HOW IS IT A SOCIAL ISSUE?
immigration is social because it’s not just one person it’s various people in a large society. According to the American Immigration Council, Understanding the Central American Refugee Crisis: Why They are Fleeing,
“The Northern Triangle region of Central America includes the small, but strikingly violent countries of El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. Honduras has been recognized as the murder capital of the world for many years, with its homicide rate peaking in 2011 at 91.6 murders per 100,000 people.”
This is influencing the society to desire to leave. All the violence occurring is practically forcing them to leave their home countries. No one wants to live in a place where they have to watch there backs everywhere they go or a place where their children and family are constantly at risk because of their surroundings. If you have to leave and break laws to get away from danger I guarantee you won’t think twice about it you’ll just do it and it isn’t just that there are more reasons as well.

HOW IS IT A POLITICAL ISSUE?
It is also a political issue because the government is involved. According to an article titled The Barriers Ahead “.. for the many GOP candidates who are jockeying for position in the 2016 presidential field, the appeals-court ruling is bad news. Immigration will now be squarely on the agenda.” This quote demonstrates that because immigration is such a big issue the issue will be, now, a priority. Meaning that it is, in fact, a political issue because now it will be an issue that the government must address. In the article it also says “To simplify, but not by much, the 26 states seeking to block Mr. Obama take the view that bringing immigrants in from the shadows imposes painful costs on the states where they live.” This means that immigration is also a political issue because it’s causing issues in the state where they come from and not just in the countries they are immigrating to. It’s causing issues between their government and our government as well.
